The Yidaki, originating from the Yolngu People in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, is recognized as the world’s oldest woodwind instrument.
Crafted by termites hollowing out the inside branch or trunk of a tree, the Yidaki is traditionally played exclusively by men.
Playing the Yidaki requires mastering circular breathing, a technique necessary for continuous play.
