Stories Behind the Artworks
This mural project at Clarke Road School celebrates Aboriginal culture, connection to Country and the natural environment.
The artwork incorporates waterways and native animals found in the local area, including the bandicoot and stingray, highlighting the relationship between Aboriginal people, animals and Country.
Nyumbar also created nine individual classroom mural panels representing Cockatoo, Kangaroo, Koala, Stones, Tea Tree, Dingo, Earth, Snapper and Kurrajong.
Together, these artworks bring Aboriginal cultural storytelling into the school environment, celebrating local wildlife, native plants and the importance of connection to Country.
