Storytelling Through Aboriginal Art
In Aboriginal culture, where there was no written language, art served as a powerful medium to share knowledge, Dreaming stories, and tales of Country, family, culture, land, plants, and animals. Art styles and techniques vary across Australia, with different regions using unique resources and methods. Traditional artworks were often painted on rocks using ochre or engraved onto rocks through pegging.
Our Bamaboomahla program teaches students how to tell and create stories using Aboriginal art symbols, providing a hands-on experience with this rich cultural tradition.
